This is a paper design from 1939 made by Lockheed. If it was produced, it would have been the world's first jet fighter with the supposed ability to go Mach 0.94 at 50,000ft. Imagne that...

Maybe not as glamorous and certainly not as uber as the jets and prototypes, but these were the workhorses of many airforces on the eve of WW2:

This is what Sturmovik should be about - what a wonderful collection of planes to choose from these would be, and so colorful and appealing to the eye. At least aircraft designs were very different from each other in the 1930's.
Anything along these lines would be THE way to end the development of Sturmovik in glory.
