missing theatres? - A1 Electrical - 13.05.2009

Hi to all.
I'm just coming back to il2 with 1946 EU version DVD. After a lot of messing about with the install of said game, i finally succeeded or so i thought...
the game would not start without using the "alternative" il2fb.exe. However, with it i seem to have missing pilot career options, i.e. if i choose an RAF career, i am given only one choice of a hurricane pilot in the far east command based at (i think) singapore. No other theatres/aircraft are offered.


I then downloaded UI1.1 and installed no problem but with the same lack of career options (and cyrillic characters-found fix for this).

I remember using merged il2 games with full choices of career/pilot/theatres. single missions seem to offer more choicebut still appear limited

Am i being thick and not looking properly or is this the new format?

Any help would be great
