[DOWNLOAD] BurmaLower v1.3 & v1.4 map (updated June 5) - CzechTexan - 17.05.2009

Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=11eb ... f6e8ebb871

TO INSTALL:
___________

1. Put the file named "cztx_BurmaLower" into the Maps folder using this path: IL2 Sturmovik 1946/Mods/MapMods/Maps/cztx_BurmaLower
2. Add the following line to your All.ini which is in your Mod/Mapmods/Maps folder.

cztx_BurmaLower cztx_BurmaLower/load.ini

REQUIRED:
_________

UI 1.1.1

There may be some problems with saving missions on this map since this project was started by FabianFred and there were issues with his Thailand map. However, FabianFred has posted fixes in his Thailand map forum threads. One major fix is included with the Unified Installer 1.1.1 Patch.
This map was made using the textures and objects that were included with the UI and its Patch.
AND it uses Delvpier's Mods_Bridges mod which is included with the cztx_BurmaLower v1.3 Package.
A README.pdf with install instructions is included in the Package and this also includes overhead screenshots of all airfields.

This download may be the final version since I don't have as much free time as before. Feedback is welcomed, especially if there is a problem with saving missions.

You may also download from my MediaFire page:

"skins_missions.zip" --includes Burma Theater skins created by other skinners; Beaufighter MkX, P-38J Twin Dragons, and RAF Mohawk (Hawk-75-A4). I'm grateful to the authors of these skins and I put them in this convenient package because they are used for missions I made. Some single player missions are included with this download.

"Mohawks_Over_Burma" -- a pack of 18 single player missions (+6 short version airstarts) depicting the story of the RAF Mohawks. Extract this folder to: Missions/Single/GB/...

UPDATE June 5, 2009:
My latest version of BurmaLower v1.4 is now available. Here is the link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/bcbepddd4 ... erV1.4.zip

Also have a Patch for v1.3 named BurmaLower v1.3 Patch which has new files that are included in v1.4 (download this Patch only if you already have v1.3). Here is the link for the Patch:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/n9mywza0d ... 3Patch.zip

v1.4 includes everything that is in the Patch. All files must be manually installed so be sure to put the files in the correct locations.

If you download only v1.4 then you need to have:

1. Delvpier's Mods_Bridges MOD available to download at this link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tlbxiit1f ... RIDGES.zip
BurmaLower v1.3 Package has Delvpier's MOD included.

2. Fabianfred's new village texture which can be downloaded here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/mn4wvnx9y ... exture.zip
Put this new texture file in this sequence: Mods/Mapmods/Maps/Tex/land/summer/fsk_countrymount

NOTE:
For those of you who do not have the UI and you manually install MODS, this might help...
You may have some missing objects from LAL Rone's Hangar MODS and some of Fabianfred's new objects.

BurmaLower map uses some of these objects which are also used on Fabianfred's Thailand map because Fabianfred started making BurmaLower and it has these objects.
I think this might be the major problem for people who do not have the Unified Installer (UI 1.1.1) including its Patch.

I think if you can download this Patch, you can manually install these object files. Hope this helps.

Are their pictures somewhere? I'm intrigued with the possibilities... A map jpeg? Screen shots?

Thanks Smile

Here is the thread for the WIP which was started by FabianFred. I took over the project at about page #5 and posted some pics there: viewtopic.php?t=6026

The README.pdf in the download has pics of about 85 airfields. Each one is unique and hand-built.

Beautiful map, easy install, EXCELLENT documentation.

Quality work all around. What I've come to expect from you and again you haven't disappointed.

Thank you!

(please check your PM's)

The map is great, thank you for your work, but I think I found a small problem with the map_F file. The size seems to be to large. I am not a map making expert, so please correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know map_F must have the same size as the ed_m02 file. Your file has the size of the ed_m01 file. After I resized the map_F file everything worked fine.

Fly! Wrote:gr8t work CzechTexan! This map is playable unlike ff's which 4 me, was a slideshow. Unfortunately, though, since I cannot save missions w/ it, it is mostly unusable. Cry

Thanks for the feedback. I'd like to figure out why some people can't save missions. I'm curious if you have the UI 1.1.1 with Patch.

Oh! wOw! Didn't notice that one, sorry guys! This will need correcting. Thanks for the feedback.

Fly!, It's hard to pin down one thing that might be missing. I believe the only thing different from the Thailand map is that I used Delvpier's bridges mod. Everything else I used came with the UI install.
Are you able to save missions using the Thailand map?

The Thailand map has some objects needed for it to save too. Some of these objects and textures are in BurmaLower.
And, the UI Patch includes LaRone's "missing objects". Do you have these?

You are able to load the map and fly over it, correct? Just can't save?

I apologize for the little help I can give. I am not an expert programmer to know about all this. But as with most problems in these forums, I'm sure there is a fix somewhere.

***Missions can be found at the same link above. Look for "mohawks over Burma" (described above). It is 97kb. The "skins_missions" folder has skins I used in the missions plus some missions too.

If there is anyone out there who has been able to save missions on this map, please post.

No probs here CT, was a bit worried when I saw the "purple" trees around Chiang Mai but found out they were the grevilleas and are supposed to be purple
I've got the UI + patch plus a lot of other mods - I also installed to my plain vanilla UI 1.1 + patch installation (no other mods) and no probs saving there either

EDIT: @ Fly, you may want to have a look at getting the 1.1.1 patch - that had all the objects etc that were missing from the UI

Cheers

Quelty
