Are New Dll's in the works? - PapaG39 - 17.05.2009
When I installed the last new 1.1 version I lost the great map and cockpit views.
the cockpits are back to unreadable gages because they just shimmer/move to much.
The coast lines once again move like ants running along the shorelines.
I have the Nvidia Gts 8800 5.12 video card.
I have tried several past drivers plus the newest driver and I have gone through those 5 Dll's several times, but I can't get it smooth like it was prior to 1.1.
The movement is most aircraft cockpits is really distracting.
I was just wondering if anyone was working on any upgraded Dll's for this new version..

i have the same gfx card as you but i use 182.50 drivers with code of 185.85
I do not really understand about you cockpits problem though

Well just for grinns, check out the MK1 Spitfire for me..
Use the #1 zoom out setting & let me know how it looks to you.
Also try it on the allied Crimea map & check out the round lake to your right .
The lake has shoreline breakers all the way around & until you get right over it the ants are just running along...
I have the same driver setup as you do at this time...

I cant remember (I'm still on UI 1.0) but do you get a new IL2.conf when you install these UI's ??
Perhaps some graphics settings in the .conf have reverted to default? Or just have a look at your IL2 Setup and look for inappropriate settings in there.

If it helps I'm absolutely know what youre talking about.
Higher resolution reduces the shimmering of the coastlines but I prefer to play @ 1024*768.
My game looks perfect with landgeom=3 only the coastlines look bad.
I got 8600GT with 178.13 driver. Dll's file date is: 02/27/2008
A solution would be to reduce the visibility of the beach foam to a few miles only.
The hi-res cockpits will give you more shimmering, thats normal. Reduce the image sizes to 512*512, it will help a bit. 1024*1024 texture for a cockpit gauge is overkill anyway.

yeah, I always use 1012 X 768 because I can see other aircraft just slightly better.
The funny thing is though that prior to version 1.1 I had stable cockpit gauges and with one of those 5 dll's took the shoreline shimmer/ants running scenario completely gone... It was absolutely perfect.
I have tried every conceivable settings between the game setup andl the Nvidia settings, but it just will not get back to where it was prior to 1.1.
I am going to do a complete nvidia driver uninstall and run registary error utility & do the whole defrag thing again & see if that will help...
Anything white seems to screw up the works...
vp..what are you talking about when you say reduce the image to 512?
