IL-2 resolution - TheSteelRain - 18.05.2009
Ok so here is my problem i can run IL-2 with max settings and high res cockpits and not have any frame rate problems. But my I cant make the resolution more than 1024x754 and my computer can do 1366x764 so how do i fix this, also it doesnt work if i change it in the conf.ini and i do change both OpenGL an DirectX resolutions. Many thanks

Going to bed here, but you can help others who are looking to help by giving these details:
Display brand and model, and method of connection (VGA cable, or DVI/HDMI)
Operating system and desktop resolution
Graphics card and drivers

open your conf.ini file and under [window] change the width and height values to your intended values.
Hope that helps!
*edit- nevermind, just re-read the post... sorry, I don't know how to fix it

Don't want to be a bugger, but are you sure that you have all the values in your config file right?
Here is a Copy of mine to make sure, ill highlight in red the most important ones...
[window]
width=1680
height=1050
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0
Should look like that, if that doesn't work then i don't know why it doesn't display your resolution.

all above responses are correct. you have to do it thru the config file. but beware, if you at anytime run the setup.exe for IL2 it will automatically revert to that lower resolution (the highest res it can "handle" which was 1024x768 on my system) - at least thats how it is on my system. im currently running it on 1440x900 which is max for the cheap monitor i recently bought. i've been having problems with my soundcard lately with game which involves me reopening the setup.exe file to reset the sound settings. but then it resets the video res to 1024x768 and i have to go back and set it manually to the "unsupported" resolution my monitor really is. so make a backup of the conig file when you have it where you want so you dont lose the settings you like. and like the above post, its more than just changing the height/width in the settings.
