[REQUEST] S.A.M. missile - {TTU}Skyhawk - 18.05.2009

Hi all,

(I hope this is the right place to post this request)

Now, I'm not sure if this kind of mod is possible, but based on what I've seen some of these genius modders come out with, I'll be optimistic. Tongue

Is it possible to develop some kind of Surface-to-Air Missile mod based off of an X-4 air to air missile?

I was thinking that it would be an interesting mod to have, since there are a few Korean War based mods coming out.

Thanks,
Skyhawk

probably because this is a WW2 sim...was designed as so...and SAMs barely existed during the Korean conflict anyways. but to answer yer question...i highly doubt the game engine would support this. especially if it were to be guided. how do the X4s in game actually work thru AI? maybe it could be improved upon by this?

my real answer would be: go get a copy of LOMAC if you want this kind of thing in a similar vietnam-era-able sim. I have not been to any "AAA-like" sites or forums based on LOMAC but it seems itd be easier to go backwards in time with that sim than forward in time with IL2 based on weapons systems and the like.

or just fly "Wings Over Vietnam" if you want to fly planes from that era !!!

You can also find a lot of extra-planes for this sim too...

ah ok. I was thinking that SAM's were used in Korea, but I guess not. Goes to show my knowledge on the technology in the Korean conflict. Thanks guys.

Yeah and a dam shame too, I would spend my life playing that sim if it had a decent MP module and a mission editor...
