R.I.P. 8800GTX - WOEI - 23.05.2009
Okay so my beloved 8800GTX just kinda went dead. You know, artifacts in BIOS, only being able to get windows to show up in 16 colour mode and in a marvelous 640*480 resolution.
My question then, is, what is to be done? I could just buy a new 8800GTX, but I might as well get a newer card. Let me start by giving you my system specs;
Motherboard:
Asus P5B-E
Processor:
Core 2 Duo E6600
Memory:
2Gb DDR2, noname.
This all is powered by a 600 watt power supply. I'm looking for a card somewhere in the 0 to 200 euro price range. Any suggestions?

If it is a BFG or EVGA then get an RMA and get a replacement. If it isnt make your nexct card a BFG or EVGA.Lifetime warranty.

pity, it's an Asus

How about getting an Ultra (just kidding)
I would suggest getting GTS250(rebrand of 9800GTX+)
since it uses a G92 core it will run much cooler than G80
These are not the best reconmmendations though
PS: there are many experts in this forum, so i hope they will see this thread, and answer any questions you many have

I also have a 8800GTX who is broken, but it's nothing serious. As I still use my other 8800GTX, I would like to repair it, so I can connect them on SLI. The only problem is that i do not find the electronic part on the net. Could we find an arrangement if your card is really broken?
I would recommend a GTX275 1,75Go, price are not very high, technology is advanced, memory is enough.
