Easily answered question about 1.11 (patch) Objects - Poltava - 24.05.2009

It came up through this thread: viewtopic.php?t=16016

This question is probably a bit silly, or at least easy to answer: if you have UI version 1.11 (i.e. including the latest patch) does that mean that you automatically have LAL_Rhones *wonderful* Hangars Objects Mod? :?:

(If so, I'm really through the roof - happens often enough with me, because of all the great mods found on AAA) Big Grin

Also: is someone planning to do some sort of overview or data file of ALL objects available in UI 1.11? Being a campaign builder I can surely see the need for it, as all old overviews are now obsolete, and often enough you find yourself searching like mad for the right Object Number...

Yes

Actually, you had a second question: for that, I don't know... 8)

what would be wonderfull when it comes to the objects is if they where in seperat folders, if this is impossible to do then at least that houses where in one section, factory buildings in one, airfield objects in the next and so on.
this way it would at least be some strukture in the objects and therefor much easyer to learn where and also to use.

There are over 1000 objects all ready. how will it be when we have 2000+ objects!Smile

I've extracted the buildings from the static.ini and numbered them - this is the default UI1.1 + patch and in the default order. For those that want to use, copy and paste into a text file and printout if required.

Cheers

Good idea Hawk,I agree...and oddly enough I was going to post a similar topic about objects as wellSmile
And one more thing,,when the WWI mod comes out, will the WWI aircraft be included with the rest of
the static aircraft, along with the Sabre,,F9F,and host the of other new planes to come?

- RAF_Magpie - 24.05.2009

The Canvas Knights project will include all new aircraft with it as static objects - its intended to either be run with, or without Unified Installer.

The rest of the new Aircraft, such as the Sabre, Panther, Magister, Spitfire Mk.XIV, Whirlwind, Lancaster, etc, would require a seperate "Static A/C Installer" package - or individual updates on a case by case basis.

Tricky: although I run UI1.11 my Object numbers doesn't match yours. :?

But the extraction from the static ini should do the trick here as well.

- asheshouse - 24.05.2009

The order of objects in the static.ini defines the object number in FMB Mission Editor Mode
The static.ini also divides objects into groups by "Title". This defines the object sub-menu, only seen in FMB Map Editor Mode.

Changing the order of objects in the static.ini does not affect what appears in the game. This is defined by the object reference. So if you don't like the existing order that appears you can change it to suit yourself by editing the static.ini without affecting any of the missions.

Due to the significant number of object mods which now exists and variation in the order in which they are installed there is large variation the reference number of objects in FMB Mission Editor in different users installations.

Yes, I that has dawned on me now - thanks!

I guess that this means that there can be no "official" Objects Lista for UI 1.11, but that we have to piece them together ourselves. No big deal that! Just wanted to make sure that I wasn't inventing the wheel all over again Tongue

  • [buildings.House$CrimeaBarnStucco] 1
    [buildings.House$CrimeaBarnWood] 2
    [buildings.House$CrimeaChurch] 3
    [buildings.House$CrimeaFarm] 4
    [buildings.House$RadarTower_Transmiter2] 1398

How did you extract these.... I want to make a list like this for my static.ini Confusedhock:

- VF101hawk - 25.05.2009

FabianFred. just make a new static ini page, then open the static ini from game and then copy and paste over to the new page and add a number to it.
If you are in doubt what each thing is then run the game in FMB+ mode and scroll thrue the objects as you copy and paste and add as an example a number to it.
In that way you can also rearange all you different buildings and tiles and so on so as an example the fortification objects comes first , then all the vehicals, and so on and so forth.
Using the FMB+ to this task makes it easyer as the name of the object apeirs ingame and you can then compare and check you are looking at the same object as the line from static ini you are correcting to your likings.

But i still state that having seperat folders for trees, tiles, houses. airfields, humans, and so on would make it easyer. and it should be possible as the shippack 2 made its own folder both for moving ships and static ships.

Anyway of getting an associated picture for each entry?

- fabianfred - 25.05.2009

burns Wrote:Anyway of getting an associated picture for each entry?

only by the laborious task of taking screenshots of each object zoomed into view in the FMB 3D mode...

fortunately when in 3D mode you can quickly flip through the Objects using the Page up and Page Down keys....when an object is selected (flashing)

it helps to have the screenshot mod too...which makes them as jpg files and gives each a unique date/time filename

- burns - 26.05.2009

I know its probably too late now. But in the future, what if mod files included a 3d pic of the object in their folder. A utility could be written to read the static.ini file and display the corresponding image, name, and number.
