Game default Crimea map - PapaG39 - 29.05.2009

I want to look at the original game default Crimea quick mission builder map to see what items they have on the map.

I have looked in every folder in the game and I can not find it.

As matter of fact I can not find any of the default quick mission builder maps.

Where exactly are they hidden?

I am also interested in the item, since e.g. on default QMB Bessarabia map, there are wrong missions:
Reds are flying to the east, and Bues fly west, what seems unnatural to me.

As far as I know there has never been a default QMB Bessarabia map.

Well, isnt it because I have QMBminus?

Any of the "default" qmb missions are still in the original sfs file - you can get the sfs extractor and extract them if you wish to modify them, you'd the put them into your mission /quick folder (some have their quick folder elsewhere)

Yup, you'll have to use the sfs extractor. hint: start with fb_maps03, there might be some data in the other 'map' sfs files....

In an original install saved game I have a files.SFS, but it won't open...

Ah ha, I see from bigbossmalones message that fb_map03 etc files may well be what you are referring to as the default maps. I always wondered what those files were for.

I have no idea how you guys figure this stuff out...lol..

Where would this extractor be? & if it is too difficult then I had better leave it alone. I screw things up very easily.

Here you can get the extractor: viewtopic.php?t=2268 You'll have to look at some of the other tools in this section as well, if you are planning to go down that route...
Make sure you read as much as you can in the threads discussing maps, etc before you go extracting things left, right and centre. Pretty much all the info you need is here, but you'll have to do a fair amount of reading first.
as for screwing things up, it's easy to do with mods for this sim. As long as you stick to the one golden rule - back up before you make any changes - you should be okay. 8)

Please, read
(The link is inoperative)

as you can see, the NWEurope, MTO and Bessarabia maps are default ones for QMBPlus1.1
