PC gone boom boom - madcat - 30.05.2009

Sod's law an't it

My motherboard went bang last night Sad and where its getting on a bit I don't think I can replace it like for like. So if I need a new modern motherboard then I guess I'll need a new CPU, RAM & mabey PSU.

So what could I get now that would be able to run SOW:BOB when it comes out (think Oleg said in a years time or mabey sooner, 2 weeks lol) as I was hopping to upgrade when it came out :x

We don't know what will be needed then. Best thing for you is to set yourself a budget and spend wisely. I have no clue what the CPU makers' timeline is for introducing new sockets, but AMD and Intel are both on relatively fresh ones (AM3 and "Socket B (LGA 1366)" respectively).
