hello,

Friday, i got hit by flak in the Uk-Dedicated2 flight server.
Im playing il2 for a few years but i've never seen this kind of damage.

There's a big hole in my left wing and the engine armor is heavily damaged on both sides.
I captured it with Fraps, while still flying above the enemy base. (so....the clip is not very detailed)

Yep, you were lucky.
I've been headshot-killed by flak more than once - no damage to the plane, but me gone.
There are some cool damage effects to many of the planes.
It could be a year or more before you see them all.
Heck, I've been at it for about 9 years now, and while the surprises are fewer, i still see something new every now and then.
It's part of what's made this sim so awesome for so long... :mrgreen:

This particular type of damage is seen with the Emils. I have not seen it on any other acft. I have seen it a lot on the Emils, though.

I think you all can clearly see the damage. I think the engine was damaged too, but I can't say of the wings took any damage.

Sometimes players crash on minimum damage and sometimes you can land with both wingtips blown off.

Last week i got shot (like the last screenshot from dudok) in a b-25.
3 of the crew members + pilot survived.

so its a bit of luck:p
