3D gun smoke trails - Sneeke - 13.06.2009

3D Smoketrails based on HolyGrail & Potenz effects mod (A1_AircraftGroundAdditionalEffects_June08) and stuka_40 Smoketrail mod.
Most credits going to these great moders for discovering pass.
Install: Just put '~000_Snk_3D_Smoke_Trail' folder to you 'MODS' folder.
Be sure to disable (put '-' in front of folder name) or delite all other mod folders
containing 'SmokeBlack_BuletteTrail' file.
Any suggestions are welcome.

hi Sneeke
i have something strange with these smoke effects. i am flying a zero and just letting off shots to see the effect. it looks nice - for awhile?? - after a few seconds of firing, the smoke effects disappear, and all i see is the tracers??
once they disappear, they don't come back unless i restart the mission, and then again they disappear after a few seconds...any ideas?
EDIT: ok, it must have been a once-off glitch, i restarted the game, and now i can't get the darn things to disappear! ...and i don't want to!

Hi, I noticed this bug, it appears on Ki-84 too.
Wait till smokeleess tracers disappear and try to fire another burst, it slow problem for me.
Anyway I will tri to fix it.

I noticed that 3d trails looks good only 180/0 or close target angles, but for guncams it can pass.
Thanks for explaining some problems you have with this, I will try to do my best on this.
P.S.: Good luck on improving effects mod.

Hi Sneeke ,
thank you
since you have already saw my post which I removed , there is no need for PM anymore .
All we ever needed is to have game engine to be able to push continuous
stream with majority of smoke textures to be blending in to each other .
Other smokes effects don't have this issue because there is no requirement for
very high rate of smoke to be produced after each bullet .
In our youtube video , 3D smoke have no longer sneaky smoketrail movement
because cotton balls issue was minimized as much as possible and size smaller reduced
to match more closely smoketrail but there is still negative cotton balls effect .
Even thou not that bad it's still there :oops:

I see you gave it more rocket look like sneaky stream to match more realistic
visual effect but then that cotton balls issue is happening .
We believe It's really more good for movies and guncam clips than flying with it .
Indeed , give it more try , it's even better you can work on this as me and Potenz
would not go back working on 3D bullet smoketrails , it was just what it was ,
an experiment which we thought was not worth of continuing .
We completely understand , nothing in life is perfect , we all try but is still just simulation .
Keep working on it !!

We hope you can find the way to tweak this thing in to very fine looking effect !!

Just type in the number you see in the box next to it, click on the button and it saves just like it does in the US
