Rotation Speed of Spinner? - mungee - 16.06.2009

Am I imagining this or not?

I'm sure that I recently saw a mod to speed up the spinner on aircraft -most noticeable with the Me 109.

Please let me know if there is such a mod ... I've done searches, but have found nothing.

Really?! That would be brilliant! I'll start looking too, will let you know if I find anything

- Oh_Frustration - 16.06.2009

Why do you guys want it to rotate faster? No one will ever notice it.

- mungee - 16.06.2009

When I watch recorded tracks, and view aircraft from the front, it appears that the spinner is "spinning" relatively slowly (compard to the engine rev's) ... I may be wrong, but it looks like it to me.

It's not really that serious ... perhaps it's more noticeable with spinners with a "spiral" pained on them - typically the later model Me 109's.

It's because of spiral. You can 'adjust' this in your skin of the Bf-109. In the skin/ template you see two spinners. The one below should be adjusted in Photoshop.
When in PhotoShop select the spinner by using the Elliptical Marquee Tool, than Filter > Blur > Radial Blur.

Thats it! Big Grin

no i think mungee is right. there was a mod somewhere. it mightve been standalone, or it mightve just been a feature with a new slotted 109. but i definitely remember someone did it.

- Oh_Frustration - 16.06.2009

It's spinning even reverse if you look carefully. You can see the same effect on TV when watching things that are filmed with fmt at 24 or so. It's an optical illusion and not a bug or undermodelling thing. A mod for this would only increase the needed memory for drawing all the possible things and calculating its spinning speed...

Shortly, pardon my French but /facepalm.
