Another WIP- My first template- The B5N2 *almost finished - Jaypack44 - 16.06.2009

Hi all, I've finally decided to have a go at making my own template. I decided on the B5N2, because There don't seem to be a lot of skins available for it, and I haven't seen any templates for it. I'm basically just working from the void, and as of now I have the lines and rivets basically complete. If it's good enough when I'm finished, I might upload it for public use, but don't hold your breath, it could be awhile before I get to that point. I'll keep posting my updates in this thread, so check back if you want to follow the progress. Here are a couple very early screens:

*First update- just some basic test colors, and the lines and rivets have been adjusted:

*second update- I'm almost done with the base weathering layers, now I'm about to start on the chipping and exhaust/fluid streaks. Then it'll be on to markings and finishing everything up...

*Update Three: Ok, after about 12 hours of work, I think the template's almost finished, I just have a few minor tweaks, but it's good enough to say it's done for these screens:

I'm still not sure if I want to upload the the template anywhere yet, but we'll see. If there's sufficient interest, I might.

Here is just a small progression that shows the skin from start to finish:

After tracing all of the panel lines and rivets...

After most weathering was finished:

Pretty much the final version:

Anyway, let me know what you think! any kind of feedback is appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Great work. Maybe you could make one with the white

Re: B5N2 Skin - Jaypack44 - 21.06.2009

First off, thanks for all your compliments guys!
Don't worry, I have several skins planned for this template, including many different examples of pearl harbor raiders as well as some later-war a/c. That's the main reason I'm holding off on releasing the template- I want to get some of my own skins done before I put the template out to the general public. All in good time- I also still have generic skins for most of the other Japanese a/c in the works, as well as some other non-a/c skinning projects going, so the "two weeks" rule definitely applies...
