Voice chat for 1946 - Silverback - 28.06.2009

Has anyone fixed the voice chat feature in IL-2 ? I play on LAN in Iraq and a voice chat that works and doesn't burn bandwith (like teamspeak) would be great. Thanks

From my understanding TS is less resource hungry that Vent...

No one has really ever used the in-game voice chat due to it's resource/bandwidth issues. Most everyone I know of uses either Ventrillo (also very resource hungry but sounds great) or Teamspeak (Not quite as clear as Vent, but uses just a fraction of the resources/bandwidth of Vent).

Bottom line, if you have the PC and Bandwidth to use it, Ventrillo is a good choice, but if you're plagued by an ISP that doesn't give you a whole lot of bandwidth, especially upstream, use TS.
