Help needed for an il-2 newbie - Chris1332 - 01.07.2009

So I recently decided to try out il-2. I play FS9 and used to play CFS3 a bit.
I feel I am kind of lost though. I am going to buy il-2:1946 which contains il-2 Sturmovik and most expansions (is this correct?). But what about the mods? I enjoy flying at Pacific theaters and Western front mostly. Is there any way to fly a campaign in the western front in il-2? And what other forums are informative for il-2? (not onlt mods)

Welcome aboard! This is an exciting community of talented people and grateful mortals (like myself). If you want to join in the Mods world, you'll have to have the game IL2 1946 patched to 4.08 and then to 4.09, then install the AAA Unified Installer (UI) then the UI patch, then the latest AC installer (currently 3.8) and then the mods of your choice. Use the "search" button and you'll find relevant threads with illuminating instructions for everything you need.

IL 2 1946 contains IL 2 Sturmovik and all the expansions
IL 2 Sturmovik is focused on the Eastern Front
Pacific Fighters is the Pacific
and Forgotten Battles is the Continuation War

You only need to patch to 4.08 before applying the Unified Installer. The U.I. will give you 4.09b1m, and a switcher for going back and forth between 4.08 or 4.09, modded, or stock.

helllo guys I have a question i have il-2 1946 v4.08m i play it with hipperlobby i downloaded the AAA unifed installer lots of copick views and flak modsi installed them correctly BUT THEY SIMPLY NOT WORK! the game works perfectly online but i want my mods!! please help me


Ps:another question if i install il-2 stab would solv the problem or i will not play online any more? and what is il-2 swithcher ?were i get it?
i will apreciate your help
