I need to check some sound properties so i can change the .wav
There are .prs files that link to each .wav file, but i cant seem to access them or change them.

You can open all files with notepad but some of them are not readable...

okay thanks.
So when i modify a sound all ive got to do is match the properties with the .prs in notepad, then??
Sorry for the confusion. I jsut want to swap out some .wavs and i cant seem to get mine to work despite haveing the same properties.

If you are not hearing your new sounds , check that you are renaming them properly , ie , copy and paste old wave name to new one word for word dot for dot , also be awear that the Prs overlaps almost all sounds so if your just adding one or two new ones they may be difficult to hear at first.

right,
for example im putting in new Browning 50 cal sounds.
So i'm naming my wav files MG_Browning50.wav and MG_Browning50x.wav...letter for letter.
They are completely silent. I can't hear them at all.
If it is the volume, how do i change that??
Here is a copy of the .prs
[common]
mode relobj pos
type mixer
numadj 1
[spl]
125
[samples]
MG_Browning50x.wav
MG_Browning50.wav
[MG_Browning50x.wav]
env 0 2
infinite 1
period 0.074
[MG_Browning50.wav]
env 8
infinite 1
period 0.074
thanks

... the volume is line spl (stands for sound pressure level) and 125 is rather loud, because the unit is the decibel, and a difference of say 3 Dbs represents a level twice as loud

The .wav file must also be in the correct format, this thread may help.

thanks for the help. has anyone else tried to do this??
I still cant get it to work.
Its confusing because i show the sound files are PCM not Mpeg. Anyway, i went down the line and converted them to 44hz-11hz, and 16bt,8bit.....on both Mpeg and PCMs formats. (they still have .wav headings)
Still no dice.
Im not sure what im missing here.
