Help with aircraft properties please? - CrazySchmidt - 09.07.2009
Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me where I can locate weapons load-out data for new mod aircraft when they have been installed? I want be be able to build a feature into Mission Mate that will generate load-out files automatically that MM can use for user defined aircraft entries.
I see that there are many entries for stock aircraft in the the "weapons_ru.properties" file, but can't see any entries within these for the mod aircraft.
Thanks in advance for any help at all.
Cheers, CS.

The loadout data are there, maybe you have another weapons_ru.properties in the MODS folder.

... moved to proper forum section
and OberstDanjeje is right .... all payload data for all planes is in weapons_ru.properties
proper location :
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\i18n\
if having double files please merge them and place in above location

not all AC payload data is in the weapons_ru, such as the P2VS Neptune, or the F9F2.....i'm sure that CS is referring to these?? :?:

yup, those have specific payloads .... look at hashed files for it

I've got the Panther in my weapons_ru.properties file, admittedly I put it there myself, looks like;
Code:
#####################################################################
# F9F2 Panther
#####################################################################
F9F2_Panther.default Default
F9F2_Panther.06xHVAR_Rockets 6 x HVAR Rockets
F9F2_Panther.02x500lbs_Bomb 2 x 500lb Bombs
F9F2_Panther.06x250lbs_Bomb 6 x 250lb Bombs
F9F2_Panther.02x500lbs_Bomb+06xHVAR_Rockets 2 x 500lb Bombs + 6 x HVAR Rockets
F9F2_Panther.04x500lbs_Bomb 4 x 500lb Bombs
F9F2_Panther.02x1000lbs_Bomb 2 x 1000lb Bombs
F9F2_Panther.02x500lbs_Bomb+06x250lbs_Bomb 2 x 500lb + 6 x 250lb Bombs
F9F2_Panther.02x154Gal_Tank 2 x 154gal Droptanks
F9F2_Panther.02xTinyTim 2 x Tiny Tims
F9F2_Panther.02x75Gal_Napalm 2 x 75gal Napalm
F9F2_Panther.none Empty
Haven't got the Neptune yet but as zo said the info is in the hash files

As far as I know the weappons_ru file is just a descriptive file for the loadout, no more.
The loadout work fine even if there is no entry in the weapons_ru file, the name of the loadout in the selection tab will be the name used in the class file.
The same is for the plane_ru.properties.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Firstly my apologies
fly_zo for posting in the incorrect forum, I wasn't really sure where to place it and I figured where better to ask than in the forum of the guys building the mod aircraft themselves
bigbossmalone is correct, I am particularly referring to these new mod aircraft. I have searched the entire IL-2 mod folder (from the root game folder) and that returned 2 "weapons_ru.properties" files, neither of these contain weapons load out data for the new mod aircraft.
So, my question is where is it stored? Is it accessible at all externally via a file anywhere? As
OberstDanjeje has pointed out, these aircraft certainly have all the correct load out entries in the FMB so it is getting it from somewhere. One of you clever mod guys will have the answer I know it!
Cheers, for the discussion so far.

Ok thanks, not quite what I was hoping for but at least I know what my options are.

fly_zo I appreciate your reply, it was definitive and that was what I was looking for. I find it difficult working with grey, black and white is so much clearer.
Ultimately for me it would be nice (for the MM project) to have a consistent load out data file structure provided for each mod aircraft, but I realize that that would be an extra step for modders.
If there are any aircraft modders here that would be happy to work out a format that would potentially work for everyone, I would be very happy to open a discussion.
Cheers guys, thanks for the input.
