Trouble while installing Il-2: 1946 - Printable Version

Trouble while installing Il-2: 1946 - Abel6669 - 11.07.2009

When i installed the game first time it worked fine, til today when it CTD'd multiple times, so i uninstalled it. Now im going back to installing it and it gets to about 20% and i get th error message:

Quote:Error1503.Error reading from file C:\Program Files\Ubi\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\fb_3do06.SFS. Verify that the file exists and you can access it.

Why am i getting this error now???? i cant take it back to the store i bought it from beause of their stupid policy.

When you uninstalled it did you go into program files/Ubisoft and delete the game folder it leaves behind?You must do this after a uninstall because it leaves the game folder behind there could be a corrupt file in there.Error 1503 is a common Windows error. Error 1503 is usually caused by missing system files, wrong system settings or a corrupted registry file. Run a registry scan to check for registry errors & other system problems. 96% of the time this will fix the cause of the error. Did you create any shortcuts to the game?If you did delete them before trying a fresh install.

Yes. Grumpy is right, this happened to me before so i completely deleted everything that had to do with ubisoft and reinstalled it.

thanks for the help guys, i wiped out anything related to ubisoft, then ran CCleaner to fix any regstry errors, and now its installing fine, thanks again.
