Vista Compatibility - oldschoolie - 13.07.2009

I'm thinking of giving a friend a spare copy of Il21946 which is on my shelf, but his PC is running Vista. Does anyone know whether the two are compatible?

1946 is compatible with Vista 64bit. Smile
Istallation starts not automatically, he must run the "a.exe" from the Disc as far as i know (to long ago^^).

definately change the directory where vista wants to put prog, make another folder and put it there, vista is a load of crap and a nightmare, believe me.
Its a waste of time, cant wait to fork out on yet another sys to get rid of it.
Apart from that it works fine :-?

I run IL2 1946 in Vista 64 bit, and I allowed it to install to the default location. I have no problems with it at all. However, I DID turn off UAC just after the initial install of Vista. That makes all of the difference in the world.

And FAR from being a 'nightmare', I found Vista to be a LOT more stable and bug/crash/BSOD free than WIN 95, WIN 98, And Win XP were when they were first released.
