New Bf109 BOB Campaign: Storm over England! - Poltava - 15.07.2009
Now available for download is a
semi-historical, static 22-mission campaign, set during the Battle of Britain 1940. You are a German fighter pilot stationed at the Channel Coast, flying the Messerschmitt Bf109E. The missions spans all the major phases of the Battle of Britain from the German side. It is built using Canon_UK's OLD English_Channel 1940-map. (I thought I should wait for his new version, but then I started on a big Luftwaffe Early War campaign, and just got carried away...)
The campaign starts in July 1940 with the so called "Kanalkampf", when the Luftwaffe and the RAF fought for domination of the English Channel, and the Luftwaffe won, closing these waters for convoys. It then continues withe the action in August until early September, when the German airforce primarily attacked the English airfields of RAF and came pretty near to breaking Fighter Command. After this phase three follows, when the Luftwaffe switched to attacking Enlish cities in general, and London in particular. (This soon proved to be an error.) And finally there is phase four, starting in early October, when the German bombers due to heavy losses switched to nighttime attacks, and German fighter-bombers started performing hit-and-run raids in the south of England, merely as a sort of tactical distraction.
Below is a short promo video I've made for this campaign:
Many missions in this campaign are based on actual events, often from the history of JG26 or JG51.

I rarely fly german campaigns but I will certainly try this one. It really sounds great!

That's the full version of the demo 4-mission "Over the Channel" you released a while back, isn't? I've been waiting for this one, thanks!
I'll gve it a try in a couple of days when I finish current campaigns, but if the demo is any indication, this will be a blast!

Thanks, downloaded!
BTW, where can I get the high-cloud-layer textures seen in that video?

Hmm, the description of the first mission says I'm flying a fighter sweep and tells me what "E4" skin to to use, but...
I'm in a Junker!?
Edit:
Ah, it's cos I started at the highest rank. You have to start at a low rank...

1. The sky? Don't remember, I'm afraid...
2. A RAF Spitfire campaign? Well, I'm tempted to do one, but what if Canons new map emerges... :?
3. The problems looks like a map load problem - but I will look into it bit more. There are no special objects in this campaign, just plain UI 1.11.

You can edit the campaign by chaning the aircraft to spits, or simply by opening everything in FMB and changing the spitfires to flyable and the 109's to AI
