Nr. one retains markings even with option "markings OFF - rdans59 - 17.07.2009
I have installed the AAA UI 1.1 + patch and I have tried to start building some missions using the English_Channel_1940 map.
Unfortunately, once I create a UK flight, the player's aircraft always shows with the markings ON, even though I have unselected the box and used one of my custom skins (with markings already painted).
The .MIS file shows:
skin0 defiant_141Sq-TWA.bmp
skin1 defiant_141Sq-TWB.bmp
skin2 defiant_141Sq-TWC.bmp
skin3 defiant_141Sq-TWD.bmp
numberOn0 0
numberOn1 0
numberOn2 0
numberOn3 0
so all 4 aircrafts have the option set to OFF ( the 'numberOn' options are all set to '0') but despite that, once the mission is started, the flight leader (player) shows the markings on top of the custom skin.
Changing manually the values in the .MIS file from 0 to 1 makes the other aircrafts behave as expected (they have the markings ON on top of the custom skin), but when I change them all back to '0', the player's aircraft has again the markings ON.
If I change the player's aircraft to another one (number two, or three, etc.), then THAT airctaft shows with the markings ON.
Is this a bug? Has it been reported already? I could not find any topic in the other forums.
Has anyone seen this happening as well and if yes, is there a solution?
Thanks!!

Not a bug, not caused by mods, has been around since the start.
The game ignores all marking options, skins, and pilot skin selections made in FMB for the player. Use the arming screen instead.

Indeed that works... strange I never noticed that with ver. 1.0.
Most probably because all pilots I have created have by default the markings options set to OFF in the Arming screen... when installing the UI 1.1, I had a fresh install of the whole game, so no previously created pilots...
Quite stupid of me not to have noticed that before...
Anyways, thanks for putting me on the right track!
