Game crashes instantly - DrFire - 18.07.2009

For some reason, whenever I try to launch IL-2 Sturmovik from Steam, the game will pop up for a brief second then instantly close. I have no idea why it's doing this, can anyone help?

why do you use steam for il2 ?

Check the conf.ini file and make sure it's complete and that your resolution you've set for the game is within your monitors specs.
If you even suspect that the conf.ini has been compromised, re-run the setup.exe program and that should fix it.

I have no idea where conf.ini is..., I looked in my Il 2 folder, but it's not there.

Nevermind, found it in the GCF. I can't open it. Should I reinstall?
