Sea Fury - Silverback - 21.07.2009
Is anyone working on the FM for the Sea Fury? Don't shoot me, I just hate to see a great plane go to waist.

Yep looked at that already. Sad story but no real end or answer to the question.

Sorry for my english, but...
is it right that Mr Jolly has ending his works on AAA? If he had looked the tread about the seafury, who wants to end this plane now? :?:

Its a piss take to be honest. Nearly finished, he shuts it all down then leaves with out any coordination to that project. Which is a real blow out, I wanted a Sea Fury soo badly.

Remembering two things:
Firstly the work done here at AAA is FREE and we are not charged for new aircraft.
Second that any aircraft released here is still the intellectual property of the person that produced it and if they want to withdraw it that's their right.
I too would like to see the Sea Fury finished ( I don't even have the model) and with its own dedicated FM, but to describe it as a "piss take" I'm sure will only serve to alienate.

It was removed by Mr. Jolly, not Flaktiken.

I'm sure Mr. Jolly is a nice person. I am also quite sure that he wouldn't want to see the Fury dusting away. Maybe, some respected modder in our community will take it over one day. I hope.

Some off us were lucky enough to grab it before it was removed

I remember seeing a post where Magpie said it
could be released, but indicated that there was some work left to be done on it-- so it is not beyond the realm of possibilities that it will see the light of virtual day for the rest of us ;dd Just a question of when I would guess.
- Baco1170 - 21.07.2009
Well, Mr. Jolly was suposed to work on it
- SAS~CirX - 21.07.2009
Thanx!
That would be the second funniest thing I heard all day.

There is nothing stopping Flak from reposting it to be honest; as for any continued development, well, that would be up to Flakiten to decide how that was handled.

I found a Sea Fury in a large mod pack when doing a search for it, but I am not sure how I would go about extracting just the Sea Fury.

Based on the above and what has been mentioned in other posts it seems like this is very much in the hands of Flakiten,
I understand that he was unhappy about how this and another of his projects, the Neptune were dealt with by AAA admins. The site has moved on and those disputes were in the past. I would suggest they are best left there ?
There must be hours of work in this aircraft alone, I was able to grab it when it was initially released and the model is superb- I've been lucky enough to get close to the real thing and I'll tell anybody, its good. Add to that the fact that the Sea Fury was one of the very best (if not the best) late piston engined fighter bombers and saw extensive service in Korea. I think there is real merit in it being brought into the game- it would compliment the work on the F86, Mig15 and new Korea Map perfectly. Apparently there is already a good prs file for it so its down to cockpit and FM.
I don't know doodles about how these mods are created but I suspect there is a hell of a lot of work in a doing the cockpit and FM and people (with real lives) do this for free. That said I think this aircraft deserves a place in IL2 and I would ask Flakiten to consider reopening the project or at least agreeing to another willing modder to take it on. Im obviously not alone in this as one way or another this great aircraft keeps popping up on the site...
