I beseech you! (maybe semi-easy Java mod request?) - Spinnetti - 21.07.2009

So, my skins folder is approaching 13 gig, and I'm wondering if its possible to mod the game engine such that I can use alias's (shortcuts) in my skin folders so I don't have to have duplicate files across various sub-types of planes (e.g. FW190A5&6 can use same skins, so I have dupes in both folders).. Any thoughts? I tried putting in shortcuts, but it doesn't resolve them.

unless your HD is running out of space, i wouldn't worry about tons of skins. the game doesn't load them until the time you are actually choosing the skin, so it has no impact on load times, gameplay, etc... :wink:
as for shortcuts, i don't think it can currently be done...
...a couple years back, my skin folder was over 25 gig, with no ill effect to the game... :wink:

I backup regularly, and its just chewing a lot of disk for dupe files. I just don't like waste. I'm around 25 gig.
