[REQUEST] KB-11 "Fazan" - Messer - 26.07.2009

Anyone could tackle this wierd looking, yet charming bird? It's not nearly as popular as many of the planes that are modded, sure, but it would be a decent addition to the game from a very neglected part of WWII... Cry

The KB-11 "Fazan" ("Pheasant" in English) was designed on 1938 specifications as an army reconnaissance plane, artillery observer and light bomber. After an unsuccessful prototype, lovingly named the "Kwazimodo" for its ugliness, an improved version KB-11 was developed and series production began. 7 were produced in 1941 with a 780hp Alpha Romeo engine, and 43 more in 1942 with a more powerful PZL-built Bristol Pegasus 840hp engine, dubbed the KB-11A. The KB-11As replaced the PZL-43 as the main army recce plain. A yato (or squadron) of 18 planes fought during the Autumn of 1944 in support of the Bulgarian Army against the Germans. The planes were often fired at by both sides, as from the ground it resembled the Hs 126, often used as a recce plane and light ground attack by the Germans in the Balkans. Nontheless, it was a strong plane, capable of resisting damage.
After the war over 30 were given to Yugoslavia and as a testament to the quality of the already worn planes (and the poor state of Bulgarian-Yugoslav relations), these were used in the Yugo Airforce until 1956.

C'mon folks, would anyone please try adding this bird?

Just checked out the Westland Lysander (I wasn't familliar with that plane), and yes, there's definately resemblance. Well, does that increase the chances anyone will mod it? Please? Big Grin
