Battle for the Admin Box - Burmalower map - need skins - CzechTexan - 27.07.2009

COMING SOON. BATTLE for the ADMIN BOX
a 12-mission campaign flying the Spitfire MkVc for RAF 607 Sqn during the 2nd Arakan Offensive Jan-March 1944.
During this period the Japanese launched missions with up to 100 planes and frequently used 60-plane missions against the Admin Box--a defensive perimeter formed by British and Indian troops totally surrounded by the Japanese and only supplied by air cargo drops.

Missions may be very memory-intensive for weaker computers (I have 2 Gigs of Ram and works fine).
Many missions have up to 60 planes in the air. Will you be able to withstand the onslaught of Ki-43s?

Note: The campaign is finished but I need new skins to include with it. Yesterday by accident, I just happened to find MODEL AIRCRAFT MONTHLY magazine (July 2009, vol 8, issue 7) and it has a great article on Spitfires vs Japan in Burma and Darwin, Australia. There are many good sideview drawings by Steve Nichols and I'd like to have some skins made of the 607 Sqn Spitfires. I don't want to infringe on their copyrights so I will not post the pics online. Maybe some of you skinners would like to do these?

Which Ki-43 units were involved?

K2

- CzechTexan - 27.07.2009

hello Billfish. Sentai 64 was the main JAAF Ki-43 unit.
But I'm looking for Spitfire skins. The Ki-43 skins I used were ones by Macwan.
By the way, I noticed your New Guinea Ki-43s. That's an awesome job to have so many!
I've already tried to contact Kristorf because he has made skins for me before but he hasn't replied yet.

- SparrowThree - 27.07.2009

how many Spitfire skins are you looking for?

Spitfire Skin. - GhostRider - 27.07.2009

Hi!

I have a skin Spitfire I use in the Pacific theater, it will be like.

However, the codes are fictional, I can you send it without the codes.

Give me news.

Ghostrider, I'll send you a PM. Can you also make it with a black spinner instead of white?

Sparrowthree, I really would like to have one with markings and codes and one with only markings but with no codes. My last campaign had incorrect SEAC markings so I'd like to get this one right.
I'll send a PM.

- Metatron - 28.07.2009

This sounds like a great campaign, as was your Odessa campaign.

I'd love to help with the skins, but I suspect the mkV warping will give me a headache.

- CzechTexan - 28.07.2009

Thanks Metatron. There's a lot of large air battles in this campaign. RAF is usually outnumbered but that's the way it was. Spitfires were the better plane so that helped in the numbers game. The quality of JAAF pilots was also low at this time during the war while RAF pilots were veterans. If you like air-to-air combat then you'll like this one. There will be plenty of targets to shoot at!

I think Ghostrider and Sparrowthree will be doing the skins so there's no need for extra help.
I'm disappointed with my Battle for Arakan campaign because the Hurricane's SEAC markings are wrong. I should have done more research because the roundels were blue and white from July 1943- early 1944. The markings with the so-called "india white" (pale blue color) were used later.

About Battle for Odessa, I occasionally get praise from people about that campaign. Probably because there are so few missions for that map. I plan to do part 2 later and it'll probably be about the first sturmovik unit there. Right now I'm well into making a campaign for the Slovakia map about the battle for Liptovsky-Mikulas. This will be a good one!

Hi Texan! - GhostRider - 28.07.2009

I just realize that you wanted a skin Spitfire MKVb, one I did yesterday is a MKVIII .

I have a skin MKVb to the Pacific theater, but it is not complete.

If you want, it will be ready by 5 or 6 days.

I am currently completing a squadron of the 1st Air Commando (United States) also operating in Burma.

And the spinner, so it may be black, it's easy ... loll

Sorry if my English is not good, I'm French and I do my best.

Waiting for you.

LOL Ghostrider! Don't worry about the English. I understand you just fine speaking like a cajun!
If you're busy then I could just get Sparrowthree to make them. He seems real interested and wants to make a set of four with roundels and codes and plus probably one without codes.

I'd still like to have your MkVIII (right?) with no codes and black spinner. It's a nice looking skin and I can't ever have enough SEAC skins. Will it be uploaded at Flying-legends.net or Mission4Today.com?

- Kristorf - 29.07.2009

Sorry mate, just seen this.

I have had a PC problem (poss trojan), lost all e-mails, some progs etc and have started a slow re-build.
This will take time so please forgive me on this one for not replying

- CzechTexan - 29.07.2009

No problem Chris. I wish I had found this magazine 2 weeks ago when we first talked about this. I didn't find any pics of 607 MkVcs so that's why it took so long to get back to you.
Thanks for the reply.
