Do you have any info on when this will be available? I also take it that this will be a Windows version, not an arcade or console game?

If for Windows it looks like it will be including lots of great additions - especially on the early war planes like an I-15 and the Avia ...

- _1SMV_Gitano - 28.07.2009

It's for Windows

I was just rwading the article and decided to post it here, but you beat me to it. Looks like a lot of work has been done on that patch. Brand new flying Avia B.534, SM.79 Sparviero plus some more I-16s and more AI planes (possibly as flyable in the future) - that's excellent news! Big Grin

Well, I can only dream a Bulgarian plane will make it's way in game too... :?

PS.A workin RADAR in Il-2?! Confusedhock: I only hope that it would be usable with "NoHUD=1" setting. Bombsights, for example, are a pain in the rear to use without HUD messages.

- SG2_Wasy - 28.07.2009

Most italian planes build already many times ago..... Part of them was included in 4.04 or 4.03, but some of them wasn't ready in this time... And now they a coming. Very want Fiat G55.

Looking forward to that I-15bis!! Hope someone can add wheel spats soon!

- Saburo Sakai - 28.07.2009

question is, will this stop the game from being modded?

- 310_cibule - 28.07.2009

FINALLY!

I'll tell you a story: A couple of years ago (two or three) Czech and Slovak community of virtual pilots collected donations to support an effort to implement the best Czechoslovak pre-war fighter Avia B-534 into Il-2 (it was being created by a Hungarian designer by that time, we knew it takes a lot of work and just wanted to help somehow voluntarilly but this is not the point anyway).

We all have been waiting since impatiantly for that unique chance to get our beloved plane (some say the best prewar bi-plane). Sometimes it looked hopeful sometimes the news were very skeptical (the guys who were involved were very fond of an official patch and Oleg is very busy).

Now it seems the time is coming. Not only Avia B-534, but Letov

Here an interview on the 4.09 patch in simhq.
there some stuff on you tube of the new up dates.
If you read the interview there a chance that some of the mod that have been make could become part of the game and there a link for it.
