Additional Camouflage Settings -
-)-MAILMAN- - 03.08.2009
Currently we have three choices:
Summer
Winter
Desert
Can we add additional choices?
Examples:
Jungle
Central Pacific
South Pacific
China Burma India
Far East
etc.
With the SFS extractor tool it is easy to even change the camouflage setting for the stock maps and placing them in the mod folder (done already for New Guinea for example.
As it stands now desert is used for both the desert and pacific. I have tried adding folders using the examples above and changing the map camouflage, but it didn't work that simply so there is probably another step or steps. Anyone know if this can be done and if so where would one start to look in order to do this.
Thanks

yeah that idea was here since the day Bee discovered default skins mod and we learned map's camouflage setting
... i'm afraid that would take some java programing ( source code ) so let's hope that Fireball or some other wizard have it on their list ...

Changing F4U-1A(multi) to F4U-1A(RZ) -
-)-MAILMAN- - 04.08.2009
I know this is not camouflage per se, but regardless of whether you pick summer, winter or desert you get this problem. This is how I fixed this particular problem.
The USN, USMC & New Zealand were the only operators of the F4U-1A in WWII. We are not talking the Royal Navy Corsair II which is a F4U-1A with modified wings.
In the past if you put a RNZAF F4U-1A skin (from the cache folder in skins folder) into the F4U-1A(multi) folder in the skin mod then start the game - select quick mission builder (to test) - select F4U-!A - selected RNZAF for country you would still get a USN/USMC skin regardless of whether you chose to turn markings on or not. The skin you put into the multi folder would be ignored.
If you rename F4U-1A(multi) to F4U-1A(RZ) you can put a RNZAF skin (from the cache folder in skins folder) into the F4U-1A(RZ) folder in the skin mod, start the game - select F4U-!A - select RNZAF for country you will now get the RNZAF skin that you put into the F4U-1A(multi) folder and this will be the skin for all non USN/USMC/USAAF countries you select regardless of whether you turn markings on or leave them off.
I now have two folders for the F4U-1A:
F4U-1A(USA)
F4U-1A(RZ)
Inside each folder I have folders for summer, winter & desert.
