Too bad you have such a low opinion of yourself.

This game is dedicated to WWII primarily and some mods for Post WWII Korea era. No one will make such a plane for this game. You might try Lock On.

The reason everyone will laugh or scoff is because it can't be done (at least not currently, and not without a ridiculous amount of work). Il-2 was made for WWII aircraft. It can't handle complex avionics and from the sounds of things, the FM crew are having to jump through hoops to make supersonic flight work the way it should.

There's usually a very good reason behind people laughing off requests. You'd do well to do a little research before asking for things.

Guys, c'mon, leave the poor guy alone. He's within his rights to make such a request, and all it warrants is a level headed response explaining why such things are not possible, or whatever (see the second post, by borris the spider as an example). It really isn't on to totaly ridicule him. You should be above all that, and it's sad that I'm going to clear up this thread because you aren't. I know some people may come out with things you might think are daft, or that you think are daft -- be the sort of person who tries to be helpful, not the sort that immediately ridicules. As KG64_cnopicilin said, 'Only a "it's not possible" is enough'.

It's completely possible, and I think the community needs to start taking stuff like this seriously, the game engine is by far the best flight sim I've ever seen, for one good reason: It's the only flight sim I've ever seen that feels like you're there, I don't know if it's the lighting, hi res ground textures, clouds, or what, but for some reason, it's the best one I know of.

Anyhow, this would probably take months for the average modder, the reason people laugh is because you would also need other modern aircraft to go with it, modern ships, modern scenery, modern weapons etc. Another way to look at it is this: When the devs first started making IL-2, they needed other aircraft to go with the first plane, WWII ships, WWII scenery, WWII weapons, etc. Anyhow, if anyone does actually pick up a modern request for once, and gets it to work, then whoever does that should expect a whole lot of "HOLY CRAP!" statements. Haha, now THAT'S an accomplishment that should drop some jaws, I'm assuming people would come to respect the serious skills...

And you thought the SR-71 was fast...
Hehe... Space shuttle...

Try the thirdwire sims, Wings Over Vietnam, etc. They model all kinds of modern era jets and even helicopters, along with the scenery, radar, and flight models to make it work really well. Il-2 is catching up with the Korean War era stuff, but honestly there are already good sims devoted to post 60's air combat, and they're worth a look.

Are you serious?

Cause my request wasn't that far out.
Last time i checked viper fighters are atmospheric fighters also, not like that guy who posted the Defiant from Star Trek.

PS: this is what you get when you let requests go rampage.

If yours was the one including a series of luftwaffe aircraft that never left the drawing board, my appologies, I wasn't sure about those ones, but i removed them since they were off topic anyway. You're more than welcome to post them again in a separate thread, and if people respond the same way -- taking the mickey, i'll respond in the same way too.

- Fryslanboy - 05.08.2009

I was the one with those luftwaffe planes,

My apologizes for that...but, the last one, if i can remember, the He 1078A, looked from the front view, it was just like the F-35, Really....

Cheers!
