Need problems!!! - VF101hawk - 08.08.2009

Oh wasnt i glad when i got my brand new Hotas Cougar home.
Well i was happy for 3 houers then been really upset on this socalled topp of the state joystick.
Topp of the crap joystick is a fare more fitting description on this stick.
If you arent a master in technolegy you shouldnt buy this stick, and thats a advice.
It feels great, looks great but this doesnt help when the inside is so poorly made that it has all kinds of problems with compebilety to all and everything you might have inside your computer, this be hardware or software.
Ive been reading the cougar world forum up and down and sideways. installed and reinstalled xxxxx times and also tryed to attach and reattach to different usb ports to see if it will be reconized anywhere.
Then bingooo its reconized. and you follow the installation thingie and go to flash it with new firmware.. bummer no joystick connected!! what??? well you reboot and try again.. connected, you flash and go on to connect the throttle and bugger again you get unknown usb device on your screen and so the story goes on..

And people say this stick is great!!!!
they must have a mental problem.

Noone if they bought a car would say if mentaly sane that a car is good if when you just have bought it you have to press the door open knob 50 times before the door opens, then to discover that the engine wont run. and after recharging the battery for the 5 time it suddenly runs and you are driving with a smile on your face down the street with your brand new playmobile.
Then you feel hungry and you see a doughnut shop and stopp for doughnouts and cofee. you get it then come out and it all starts over again. door not opening, engine wont start.
What does a sane man do??
He calls a car resque service and make them take the heap of crap back to the store it was bought!!!

Gumpy, your reply is neither helpful or polite. If you have nothing good to say, sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut... his/her post is perfectly fine and understandable...

I'm sorry about your problems, but if you were to provide us with some system specs then the guru's of this forum might have an easier time helping you?

I don't have a cougar, I'm a X-52 man myself, but I'm sorry to hear of your problems...

Good luck on fixing that.

My advice is this....if you can return it for a refund, do so immediately. I never returned mine and it's been sitting in the basement for years. I've been happy with my CH HOTAS for all those years so I'm not upset about it at all. You live and learn.

What you are describing are simply software problems. If you ever get them resolved, be prepared for hardware problems. Unless you are prepared to invest your time, effort and money into making the Cougar what it should have been, get out now and move on.

Hi

Return asap, gone through that & if you don't return you will regret rest of your life. I was never able to get it working to an acceptable standard.

The cord that connects the joystick & throttle can be replaced easily, take the cable with you to the nearest pc shop & ask them for one or order, i think its called a 6pin male connector. If not contact saitek, they will help.
