Several Serious Questions about UI & 4.09. - Scharnhorst1943 - 09.08.2009
Ok,
My computer fried and now I am up and running again. I have 1946 DVD installed, I also have 4.08 installed even though the load up screen still says 4.07m.
I am trying to get everything back up and have run into some troubles. I have downloaded and installed 4.09 beta over my 4.08m. The game crashes and will not load past 5%. I return the backup of 4.08 and it loads fine. So my delima is that I CANNOT install un-modded 4.09bm.
So my plan WAS to patch my 1946 DVD up to 4.09bm and then install UI v1.1.1. After that I was going to us JSGME to install all other mods. But I cannot patch up to 4.09, only up to 4.08. So here is my question ....
1) Do I need to install UI over 4.08 or 4.09?
2) If I install UI over 4.08m, does UI contain 4.09m material and maps?
Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated. I have been sooooo frusterated with getting IL2 back to where it was I am about to take a shotgun to my computer. I have had to reinstall more times then I can count, but that is partly due to trying to get Mat Manager to install. I have officially given up :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: on mat manager. :twisted:

Scharnhorst1943, if the load screen says 4.07 then your 4.08 patch application went awry.
If you have a clean copy of 4.08 that works, showing the 4.08 load screen, the only thing you need is UI1.1.( so UI over 4.08 )
When applied to 4.08 the UI installs 4.09 and that includes all the mod planes , maps, and goodies considered ready then. (so, yes to number 2)
As for mat manager not working for you, there are a couple of alternatives that enhance default markings available.
Let us kmow when you get running, then we can find the mat mgr replacement stuff, OK?

Roger, but I am pretty sure the 4.08 installed correctly. I guess I will try it again and see.
