Seafair 2009, Blue Angels, C-17, HH-65, and more! - Fight2FlyPhoto - 10.08.2009
Hey everyone!
Wanna talk about pulling a rabit out of a hat... I managed to pull off getting an interview with Lead Solo Maj. Nathan Miller on media day Thursday morning! He's an awesome person and the answers he had for my questions will certainly speak closely to the students I work with, which this book is for. He came from a similar background and was really able to relate well.
Enough words, though, here are some pics!!
Maj. Miller and I, thursday morning.
Maintenance crews thursday morning...
Maj. Nathan Miller departing Boeing Field in usual Blue Angel form! I took this picture from the large parking lot SOUTH of Boeing Tower. (first time shooting there... usually I go to the one just north of the tower)
Maj. Miller on short final
Diamond takeoff... with some pesky Mud Hen trying to get in the picture as well.
Again, Maj. Miller taking off from BFI. This was Thursday's full practice
Last one of Maj. Miller from Thursday! More to come shortly!

This USCG HH-65 Dolphin put on a nice demo right in front of us on the beach at Genesee Park!
And we can't forget our friends to the south, the C-17 Globemaster III demo from McChord AFB
Fat Albert proudly showing Seattle Pride!!
Fat Albert opening the show on Sunday!
Since sitting on the beach with the crowd at Genesee Park means being further from the action, I decided to have some fun with the unique perspective I had. I just loved these tugs!
Low Break Cross on Friday
Sunday's Flir Dis Lis
Opening maneuver with the solo pilots seperating and then setting up for their first opposing pass. I must say it is really amazing sitting on the shore of Lake Washington, watching these pilots fly these jets below all the hills, seeing them pop up from behind trees, etc. Quite a unique show site, I must say!
I have to finish up with my favorite maneuver, the Delta Loop Break!
So that's it! I hope you all had as much fun as I did! 350 days till we get to do it again!!
