Two joysticks on the same PC? - Uzin - 12.08.2009

Is it possible to make a mod allowing to join two joysticks to the same PC ?
Perhaps it would be fun to fly together with ones girlfriend as an instructor?
Or even better to fight on the same area ? Big Grin Big Grin
Your opinions on this suggestion are welcome.

Have your girlfriend on your lap...

it's more enjoyable for you, and possibly for her too...

About the physical possibility of having 2 joysticks I don't know... have fun though!

You could have 2 joysticks - the second will just have a different ID - but you won't be able to control seperate aircraft with it. You can't map the same HOTAS control to multiple axes. Just plug it in and have a play to see what can be changed and what can't. Save your user settings first so you don't have to go through and reset the lot though.

You can hook up and use multiple controllers (Up to 4, I think), but as far as I know it's kind of impossible to fly 2 separate aircraft on the same PC.

Hello,

I think what he asks is for a way so that two joystick axes are assigned to same ingame command axe.

I have a x52 and also pedals. I am accustomed to use the twist axe for rudder so I wanted to have both x52 twist axe and also pedals for same axe command...RUDDER.

I discovered how.....

In X:...\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Users\doe\setting.ini go to the axes assignation part and add the axes you need.

[HotKey move]
AXE_RX JoystickDevice2=-trimelevator
AXE_RY JoystickDevice2=trimaileron
AXE_RZ JoystickDevice2=rudder
AXE_X JoystickDevice0=-rudder
AXE_X JoystickDevice2=aileron
AXE_Y JoystickDevice2=elevator
AXE_Z JoystickDevice2=-power

As you can see, I have two axes for the same command...rudder
