This is probably a stupid question but can il-2 run in DirectX 10?

There are no stupid questions. Only strange answers.

Yes, since all versions (as far as I remember) of DirectX are pretty much backward compatible, IL-2 should run fine on DirectX 10. I believe there is a large portion of the IL-2 community that run IL-2 on Vista and DX10. However, you will get the best performance from OpenGL rendering.

No big results with DirectX 10 best performance from OpenGL rendering like Boosher said for me the best option for IL2.
