3Gb Enabler - HGuderian - 26.08.2009

Hi! Does anyone knows how to enabling the 3Gb performance in IL2?

To better explai: under Windows XP is possible to enable via boot.ini (/3GB /USERVA=2500) more use of memory for applications.
Obviously also the applications must be enable to do that. As I saw there're 3gb enabler fpr Supreme commander and Empire Total war.

So i've made the same with Il2.exe renamin'g it tempararily as Empire.exe.

I'm using UI1.1 switched to the 4.09 with mods and 6dof option. So my doubt: is the 156kb exe file inside the related folder the real game exe
or it's stored in another place? In fact I find a 4,5Mb Il2 exe in the 4.09 mod off folder.

Anyone knows more or gime me some help?

Thanks in advance.

the real game exe is inside the root folder. For example this is the root folder of mine "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946" If it is located in that folder then that will be the exe that starts up your game. The rest are for switching il2 versions etc...

I have the instructions for doing that but they're at home. I will post them when I get home later today. Easier solution is to go to 64bit OS Smile

@F22-Raptor_2006
Thanks.
But i've not it in...the main folder contain only the il2fb.exe (156kb) switched off by UI.
I think it's store into the \_Game Switcher\4.09 Mods OFF folder.

@BattGuano
Thanks a lot. I'll see your news later.
Thanks again

the UI does not use any of the files in _Game_Switcher to start up the game. It only uses them to copy into your main directory folder to switch versions. If you want to try cut the game switcher folder and put it on your desktop, then try starting the game. it'll still work...

I'll try. Regards
