Freezes: Got a sudden and mysterious one, like mouse freeze? - Fireskull - 28.08.2009

Sometimes an automatic update or scan at just the right moment on the desktop or a specific application folder can cause a freeze. This can occur in any Operating System (OS).

Example is the mouse freezes and the curser won't move. The update or scan is handling the file or desktop at that very moment.

********AAA member, NOTICE******** : Keep the automatic updates and scans functioning in general because they are critical to recovering from virus invasion and the damaged or corrupted files caused by them. Just work around them. Rescheduling automatics or simply starting IL-2 when no automatics run will be the compromises most desirable for many users. We want for you to maintain a powerful and secure system so we can fly together and your system won't infect anyone elses with virus. Stay in the security of the cloud! ...the Cyber Cloud. 8)

If a user is not logged on during the time that an update or scan is scheduled, then (any) Operating system will begin the belated update or scan at start. This could be going when you start IL-2 as the system update or scan handles the desktop files or application files that you are trying to use, causing the freeze.

A user needs to also remember that before opening (starting) IL-2, all devices such as a mouse must be installed, plugged, and open first.

Newbies might experience a freeze the first time that they run IL-2 when the Main Menu interface appears on the screen. Push the Windows key (between the fn and the alt keys on my HP laptop). You may have to repeat the sequence 1-3 times of pressing the Windows key once then putting the curser on the Taskbar IL-2 indicator and clicking once-repeat sequence. (Note: The Taskbar indicator shows what programs are currently available to view on the Desktop [sreen].) This is a security procedure that makes you do it to get the desktop to relinquish control to the IL-2 Main Menu interface. Setting your Taskbar to Autohide will make it appear after you push the Windows key and then you move your cursor to the Taskbar extended position to make it appear. This is how you maintain control of IL-2 and your computer's Desktop.
