[Request] Mars map - SILVERFISH1992 - 09.09.2009
.......What, you want a screenshot?? You know what mars looks like...
I would greatly aprreciate a mars map, it dosent have to be huge, it can be real small if you want.
Please and thank you.

Just change the colour setting on your monitor
Honestly I cant see anyone wanting to pull this off for you. You have to be realistic with requests this is a ww2 based flight sim not X Wing v Tie Fighter

I agree with Phas3e
It's unlikely anyone will see the need to put time and effort into making this.
Cheers

I don't want to hurt your feelings mate, but you've got to understand a bit more about this forum before you post. First of all, mods, maps, aircraft and
detailed skins take time. They may take months, even years to be completed properly. Second, you have to understand about the limits of the IL2 game engine. Guided missiles, modern weapons, modern aircraft and breaking mach 1 (for now) are impossibilities for IL2. Let alone flying on Mars. I think the furthest we could possibly push Il2 is probably sometime between '52 and '55 and that's it. So remember, don't post requests for X-wings for this sim and try practicing your skin making skills before you post them. (Don't take me wrong though, you did excellent job for a beginner. :wink
Add: Also, most of the people in this forum are quite "historical". But I doubt that even the '46 people would agree with a Mars map. I know you're eager to introduce myself (I was) but remember, this site isn't run by 13 year olds.

I think it's a great idea. The world's first Martian fail compilation! The real request should be: who's going to go to mars and map it for us?

Makes you wonder... is there SRTM data for Mars yet?
Would be simple to texture and even easier to populate with objects ha!
But shouldn't we finish Earth first? Just kidding.

This is a WWII Sim,
NOT a SPACE GAME.
- Jim Beam - 09.09.2009
Seriously, I don't understand post like this. I like aviation sims, and like space games too. Specially Freelancer, Xwing saga, and even Elite, a game launched when your parents possibly hadn't met yet, Silverfish.
But other thing is to do ridiculus request. If you like those things in a game, there are a lot of space games to play with.
I believe that all I said is respectful, and you'll understand, otherwise, or you are not old enough to use a computer, or you are trolling intentionally.
S!

To be technical:

http://chambcra.freeshell.org/mars2.jpg
Both from EECH (a helicopter sim).
Personally, I'd go with a new version of X-plane 9.40 (or failing that Orbiter or one of the free mars rover/glider sims)

Please go buy a space game...
I am getting annoyed watching a 13 year old flood our 1914-1953 historical flight simulator forum site with posts about star wars and space that keep driving other more appropriate posts down the totem pole.
Dont get me wrong I love star wars, but please stop making one post per day on AAA about things totaly miss-related to semi- and historical aviation!
There, I said it, you can all come down on me if you want
but this has been building over the last few days.
- Dixiecapt - 09.09.2009
If these posts keep up I am going to write several admins in the hopes to persuade them to put a STOP to this.
- Dixiecapt - 09.09.2009
Silver,
Here is an appropriate way of making Non-related posts (star wars and space) on AAA.
