I was just wondering, is it possible to make the carriers in IL2 to be larger?

As you can the size of the Hellcat is much smaller in game.

I think the only way to make them larger would be to remake the whole model......... wich can be quite long :-?

none of the modders we have were born that way.... if you want to do something badly enough...you'll find a way

The carriers we have were already proven to be basically the correct size. Do a search and you should be able to find it on this site.

EDIT: Sorry I was so abrupt in my answer, but I was short on time. You see, I believe the problem is your perception. Because the game does not spawn planes as tightly packed as they are in the screenshot, you think that the carrier must be too small. However, if you could place the planes manually on the in-game carriers, you could get them to look just like the screenshot. Agreed. Look at that photograph. You will see a row of 4 aircraft at the stern. We are more than capable of doing this in game.

I would love to see more spawnpoints on a carrier for great shots with lots of planes on the deck.

Fireball's Carrier Takeoff mod gets as close to that as possible. Give it a try!
