Need Suggestions for Using IL2 With New Widescreen Monitor - MGMSwordsman - 30.09.2009

I just purchased a new widescreen monitor and it is currently running in 1920x1080x32 resolution. This is a replacement of my old monitor which ran IL2 in 1600x1200x32 resolution (obviously non-widescreen).

I assume that some of you are using IL2 with a widescreen monitor. Currently when I run IL2 on my new monitor with my old IL2 config, the image looks "stretched". I can run Rise of Flight and FSX in the new resolution with no problem, but IL2 is my favorite sim and always has been.

Am I making sense? Any suggestions?

Hey Mik,

I tried your suggestion and it worked great. My problem had something to do with the EnableResize and SaveAspect parameters I think. I had those parameters set differently that your suggestion when I looked at my original Config file.

Thanks!

It may seem okay but you're missing a little from the top and bottom of the view.
Try Peybolman's suggestion and look at il2fovchanger.
It gives you full screen view. I run it with three monitors and its a blessing!
I no longer get pounced on because I didn't see the enemy diving from above in an area normally viewable.

Set your parameters then delete IL-2Set tool.

Are there any hints on what you can do with 2 monitors? Not necessarily on wide view FOV alone, but any kind of enhancement or aid that adds something extra to the game ... ? Can you use the fovchanger with 2 monitors?

Hmmm...I am running a matrox triplehead2go which treats it as one large monitor.
Don't think it works with multiple monitors unless you can set them up so the system thinks they're one big monitor.
