Windows XP reinstall help:( - reflected - 05.10.2009
Dear all,
I got a nice virus on my PC, so I had to reinstall windows and format C.
I have one hard drive, virtually separated to C: system and D:games+data
So I formatted C:, installed windows xp pro, but during the installation it asked me something about checking the consistency of some files. I was too late to interrupt it, so it started to check those. white lines on a blue screen, running, like in "Matrix" for 12 (!) hours or so. finally it installed Windows and it works.
The problem is:
1: every time I start windows it asks me the same question about checking the consistency
2: I can't delete the game files from D: it says it's been damaged or locked or something.
What shall I do? Do I have to buy a whole new HD?
Thanks!

That's what I did, but it started to mess around with D: .
I think I'll bring it back to the shop so they can fix it. If it's my hard drive that's dying, they can give me a new one instead (under warranty)

If you have your old pc and it still works them just hook your damaged hd into it. do a thorow virus scan on it then a checkdisk then install all again.
And its never to late to interupt, just need to install all files over again!

I had to bring my PC back to the store, where they reinstalled everything.
Now it works fine, I just can't reinstall Il2 - I have the original DVD, but the setup wouldn't run. I can't tell you how angry I am. The reason I bought the original copy was that I love this game, and I want to have the original disk in case I would have to reinstall, and now here I am banging my head to the wall. :S

... what do you mean by setup wouldn't run ? ... try to run a.exe ( DVD root ) ... standard procedure for vista /win 7
as last resort ... get "another " copy ( net, dealers ....)
