Realism worry - hammond67 - 07.10.2009

I've been scrolling through the hud log and came across these few lines:

FailedHydro
FailedPneumo
FailedAmmoDetonates
FailedTank
FailedRadiator
FailedCompressor

Did these lines come in the original game, if so, is there anything at all that can enable these failures for maximum realism?

If there is anyone working on this, I'm not saying hurry up, I'm just curios.

well, I know they came with the stock game, but I think they only work on some aircraft that had them programmed.

FailedHydro: I know I have had my gear fail to lower on most planes,
FailedPneumo: flaps I beleive, when you jam them
FailedAmmoDetonates: I've only had this happen to me on the TB3, but sense I've started flying bombers again, I've mostly been using supressed hud messages, so it could account for when your plane just goes poof! from a single flack hit

FailedTank: maybe when a fuel tank is hit and drains out? not sure though
FailedRadiator: never had this said in the hud, but it would explain when you take a hit and your oil temp shoots up
FailedCompressor: perhaps this is when your engine runs away, don't think that would be realistic though if thats true.

FailedTank might refer to a leaking fuel tank?

These message might provide nice hooks for further mod development.

No, on the messages as we all know it appears as "Fuel Tank Leak".

my bad, FailedTank means a fuel tank leak but for the others:

FailedHydro Hydraulics: Leak
FailedPneumo Pneumatics: Failed
FailedAmmoDetonates Ammo Stores: Detonated
FailedRadiator Radiator: Damaged

These have been programmed into the game but have never been seen, Is there a way to triger these failures :?: :?:

Quote:FailedHydro Hydraulics: Leak

Isn't that used for the occasion when your landing gear hydraulics die and you have to lower manually?

Yes.

Beautiful example shown on this is on a Hawker Tempest Engineering video:

There is a hydraulics failure in game.. twice now I've engaged a 110 and watched his left gear slowly come down after I'd absolutely plastered it.. it's only been the 110 and the left gear only, if its modelled in other aircraft I've not seen it though.

Interesting video, thanks Cipher.

Only on a 110? Never seen this but I will investigate, thanks.
