a plea of desperation - 617 Bomber - 09.10.2009

Ok so my copy of 46 was working fine but i guess i scerwed it up
the new ui 1.1 (at least i think so) has converted my game to 4.09 however i dont and my game is not set up to either it crashes at 5% :???: i find that new installs may have this problem so i really need some advice. On moddingi am not complete noob to all this it's whenever anything else went wrong it was pretty easy you just look for the file but this time i am struggling tho find/change any files/documents that are linked. i do have a plan B and that is a old install on an older computer of mine i checked and its still there easy to put on a memory stick get rid of my current copy and replace it with an older un modded version. i am not too bothered about complete reinstalls i had to do it before.

so any advice is good advice to me

5% CTD is usually missing or corrupted .SFS file. Either you forgot to patch to 4.08 before installing the U.I., or one or more of the U.I. parts is corrupted.

Sometimes, the 5% CTD may be caused by not having sound set to 44.1 KHz, so check that first.

If you were installing UI 1.1 you should have started with an un-modded v4.08 installation.

UI 1.1 will install the mods an all the files for v4.09beta (not the latest 4.09 final)

UI 1.1 comes with a version switcher utility to change from 4.08 modded or unmodded to 4.09 modded or unmodded.

UI 1.2, when it is released, will integrate the new v4.09 final. This will be in the form of a patch to be installed over UI 1.1

that was my problem when i installed on my new computer, I thought that I had installed the UI enough to remember all the steps but I forgot to install 4.08 lol. it crashed at 5% like yours, and I had to reinstall
