Could I make a simple request for the P-47? - Pooch - 09.10.2009

The Jug is a favorite of mine. The modded cockpit is outstanding. The 'pit was the one thing that used to keep me from flying the plane when we first got it!
Is it posible to make one more change? Actually, not to the cockpit, exactly, but to the windscreen. That just isn't the way it looked. Some metal with rivets in it.
There are lots of pictures of Jug cockpits, but I've got plenty if a modder wanted to do it. I see that you guys are building complete cockpits, now, so I wouldn't think this would be too difficult, would it?
It would complete the P-47 in IL-2, and make it perfect, in my opinion. Please, someone tackle this one.

Maybe you could post a few pics to show us what you mean.

I would suggest putting in a line to Lt. Wolf... He's working on a collection of Mutsangs and Jugs and is currently on the late P-47D models. I believe that he will later attempt to tackle the P-47M and P-47N.

Best picture I could find, in my library, of the Jug windshield. I can't believe that with allof the books I have on the P-47, I can't find a good, straight ahead shot, of the cockpit. You see, though, that it isn't just some bent peices of metal with rivets in them, which is what the one in IL-2 looks like to me.

Wow! that picture came out a little to big!

Perhaps it would be best to post something here...

I know it says Mustang Collection, but it consists of "Jugs and Ponies" and the late P-47D models are in the works right now as far as I know.

You're right, anyway...cockpit framing is one of the things that's often wrong in this game, which is disappointing considering that it's so important in affecting forward view, but understandable, I guess, given how difficult it would be for a Russian developer to track down detailed information on so many Western vintage aircraft. Take a look a this thread on SAS and compare the 262 in-game to the picture that CirX shows from inside an actual 262 cockpit.
