[MOD] Tiny Tim Skin - Guest - 10.10.2009

Get yourself "Tooled up" with a new Tiny Tim skin.

The first successful air launch from a TBF Avenger was on 22 June 1944. A rocket as large as Tiny Tim could not be launched from directly beneath the aircraft, because the blast would severly damage the latter. The rocket was simply dropped from the aircraft, and a lanyard extended between the latter and the weapon. When the lanyard was exhausted and the connection broke, the rocket was ignited. The solid-propellant rocket accelerated the fin-stabilized Tiny Tim to about 885 km/h (550 mph), and the effective range for the typical low-altitude launch was about 1500 m.

Just download into a temp folder and unpack into your MODs folder.

Thanks to Zorin for showing the way with his re-skinned ordnance mods.

Nice skin GJE52, just 1 question if I may are you sure they were painted like that? I've had a look and can't find many pictures of the tiny tim rocket so if you have any info it would be welcome Smile

After looking for some time I only found two colour photos of the Tiny Tims. One was white with an emerald green nose, the other was painted all over in a mid blue. I tried both colour schemes in the game but they had no pespective and looked very flat and uninteresting. The Tiny Tim was not in service for long and so there is very liitle on it. I have also tried some modern schemes and it looks good, but the purists will not welcome them. So given the era we are talking about, I used a bit of poetic licence to add interest. It is really all about eye candy and the orginal scheme is particulary poor. So the choice is up to the user as ever..... If you don't like it.... well you know how it goes.

By all means it looks good!Smile
I think we where just trying to find the correct color schemes if there where such in all and every place.
Planes got painted way of theire original color didnt they??
So why not the same with ordenance?
So at least on my behalfe it was no critic at all to your work!Smile

Thanks GJE52, Much improved.

It will be hard to say for sure what the most commonly used color was for this weapon as most pics are in black and white. But here's a color pic I found.
