Head to the right side = no engine sound - IV/JG2_Dargon - 11.10.2009

Hey Community,

when i recently started IL-2 again this problem occured:

Sitting in any singleengine plane, turning on the engine. When i move my head to the right side with TrackIR the engine's sound is completely missing. It's about 90

..... I have been plagued with the very same prob for years (TrackIr3, turn head to the right) and would be glad in case someone out there has got the faintest idea ..... Big Grin

Yeah, same here.

Since I have a "not so modern" sound card, I've toned down the sound settings, I figure this is the reason.

On the other hand, I've started to use it to my advantage; whenever one of my teamsmates with a feeble mic says something on the Eagles Lair radio that gets drowned out by the engine, I simply turn my head, push the PTT key and say ... "Say again?" 8)

Possible Solution - Sikshoota - 11.10.2009

Hello

I've had similar problems in the past & was able to source & fix the problem...Try this:

Go to your sound card control panel.
Look at what speakers are selected, I suspect 5:1 or similar, if so then change until you find the ingame sound that balances around your cockpit.
Although I have a 5:1 speaker system my IL2 ingame sounds work best with 4:1.

Hope it works for you too.

Cheers n Beers Smile

Any luck with this?

My soundcard was set to "Headspeakers" :-?

Still doesn't fix the problem when i set it to something different. :???:

... same here "headspeakers" and no difference if I switch to other settings :???:

Hmmm...

Go to the 'Conf' file in your root folder & open with notepad.
Check your config.ini sound settings against mine (not just the red but especially that), if different then copy & save your [sound] data then replace with mine, if they're the same then I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help!
Hope it works fingers Xd.
