X-files graphic problem - pistitom - 13.10.2009
Hi, I have this problem for quite a while now, couldn't find a solution, posted this to various other forums, no solution yet, please, any idea is welcome...Look at the rudder, the wings, it's like some resolution issue...I have the same video card I always used, there has never been such a problem before...other games ( WOE, etc...) have the same problem ( I run IL-2 in 1024X768, WOE in 1280X800- my monitor's highest res....)

what are your card settings, AA, AF vert sync etc ?

Hi,
you don't have antialising ON.
go into nvidia control panel & put on x4 at least. That will get rid of the jagged edges.

the thing is, I have a laptop with intel 945 chipset, there's no anti-aliasing setting in the control panel, the point is that I had this laptop and video driver before and there was no problem , it came out of the blue...no virus, installed CCleaner, no solution....yet

forgot to mention , I have asynchronous flip , anisotropic filtering turned on, S3TC compression on, 32 bits per texel, 24 bit depth buffer, triple buffer on and flipping policy BLIT.....no matter how I changed these settings, the problem remained....and thank You for the quick reply

My advice is install 'nhancer'
its a tool to control nvidia cards & the option might be there......might not, but worth a try.

but will it work with intel card ?

check the antenna wire....does this have anything to do with anti-aliasing ?

Hi
i believe so, the higher the AA - the better the detail shows, apart from the roundy edges
nhancer will not destroy anything, it will either work for you or not, it has options that maybe your nvidia settings are missing, if it does not work, you can uninstall. No damage done.

it's not working, nvidia display adapter is missing...but thx anyway

this may sound a stupid question -I am stupid when it comes to computers - but I found this info in the VGA properties :
minimum graphics memory : 8 MB
maximum graphics memory : 128 MB
graphics memory in use : 10 MB
I don't really know what this means....?? perhaps I'm not using the laptop to it's full graphic potential ? Is is RAM ? the infos on the net are...well, not exactly for amateurs like me....I regret all those classes missed in high school now

Integrated graphics?

Yeah, I know, the thing that drives me crazy is not the lack of anti-aliasing, but that I had no problems before, so maybe -repeat: maybe - the driver I downloaded is sg, else than the one I used before....but this is a laptop, so, theoretically only one driver should work....
