109 Cockpits - =DFA=BeoWolf - 17.10.2009

I have found 4 109 cockpit mods, in the full mod install up to 1.2, and they are

1. AAA_Cockpits_BF_109F_Freddy
2. AAA_Cockpits_BF_109F_Default
3. Cockpits_FB_109_Mod
4. Cockpits_BF_ 109F_Default

I can tell the new mod for opening canopies is in here because with just #3 enabled I can open the cockpit and see it fly away while in flight. But there is a major bug in that from the internal view, I can see the rear of the canopy hanging out in front of me. Is there some combination I'm supposed to be running?... or one of these other files I'm supposed to disable?..... ie:AAA_109_AHS_Plus, or 109 Visual Mod?... there are just way to many Mods here with no explanation of what they do or what other files they may conflict with. A text file inside each mod explaining what they do would be a great help.

A quick explanation of the folders:

AAA_Cockpits_BF_109F_Freddy and AAA_Cockpits_BF_109F_Default contain the cockpit 3d files which have been edited to allow the canopies to open (code is elswhere). Cockpits_BF_109_Mod Cockpits_BF_ 109F_Default are the old versions of these , which are now superceded and you can delete.

AAA_109_VisualMod updates the external 3D of the 109s to give better LOD1 shadows, correct some old bugs and give the G-6s a new properly shaped cowling.

AAA_109_AHS_Plus is the latest version of the All Holes Solved mod, which removes the 'hole' bugs from the 109s and allow proper use of 6DOF mod.

It is all a bit confusing, but for UI1.3, hopefully Wustenfuch's Combined 109 pits will be included and we can simplify all of these different folders.

Hello Anto

I thank you for this answer that really satisfies me, even if it's not me that asked for it , Big Grin
I thought you were working together with Wustenfuchs to get all the bug fixed to an otherwise superb work.
So I understand with your reply that this work is not yet finished and I am wondering if all these difficulties didn't raise from the fact that you both used different version of Freddy's pit for your base work.

Please tell me if I'm wrong... I just try to understand matter that is becoming more and more complex for my limited tech.knowledge ! Big Grin
Is this related to U.I. 1.2 AC installer ,or is it different with SASMODACTv2 and his related buttons 2.3 ?

Anyway , thanks a lot to you and Wustenfuchs without who we ,109 freaks ,would miss a lot !

As I consider that we all live from desire that we hope will be satisfied one day , I certainly will have a long long and happy live!

THANK YOU and THUMBS UP

109 cockpits and other mods - henkypenky - 18.10.2009

Hi guy's reading a number of posts here I think we are in a situation nobody wanted to be in; we have UI 1.2 with a number of - for me at least - unwanted mods, we have the official 4.9 patch for which AAA has no buttons file - please correct me if I'm wrong on this one - and we have the SAS unified button. As said above all very confusing. Hope that all this will be cleared up / explained so that we can use the mods that we want, like the early P-38's, improved P-51's and 109's with the their beautifull pits. On the other hand I would like to keel the opening canopies from SAS as I think it adds something to the game.
Until this is all clear I won't change anything on my install. :?

1st > Few mods are ""unwanted" for some people, but for the majority, they aren't. As for your unwanted mods, put a "-" in front of their folders to disable them. It's simple.

2nd > If you want to use the early Lightnings and the improved Mustangs, then download UI 1.2. Again simple.

3rd > 4.09 patch was released while the AAA guys were finalizing the UI 1.2, so this is why it may not be compatible with it (buttons, etc.), but they will do their best for the next upcoming UI, I'm sure.

4th > As for the cockpits, I placed Bolox's D Mustang pit in the newer improved Ponies, and they work like a charm! I installed W

Hi Nesher, thanks for your point of view, although it 'sounded' a bit agressive. I was not repeat not accusing anybody of anything, just explaining the situation as I - and as I read some other posts some more peaople - see it. And of course I know that's it my own responsability to download and install mods. But my point is that its all confusing with all this stuff around. And yes some people would like a P-24, but not all of the people!
And thats a thing I would like to see in upcoming installers; having a choice which mods are installed without having to spend a lot of time removing lines and maps afterwards. I would also like to see that lets say an aircraft mod has its own 'built in' buttons in stead of a buttons file somewhere else.

And last but not least, your advice on the cockpits is very welcome, it give some info I was missing. Not everybody is a computer wizard and I need some guidelines before I start adding or deleting files. Smile

Madcop: Yep I've helped him with a few 3D edits and to make sure we have 100% compatibility between our packs. I think he is planning to get v1.1 out this week. There is also most likely going to be a UI1.2b patch and I'll make sure my ends of the fix are included, so we have smooth flying with our 109s.

@henkypenky

I didn't want to sound agressive, wasn't my intention at all! Smile I was just trying to answer to all your problems/questions/suggestions this is why I put the answer in that "points" form.
I'm glad I could help you with the cockpit thingies!
