IS this GETTING OUT OF hand??? - skyomish - 18.10.2009

I just want to ask when will it all end.
Now we have 4.09m, UI1.1, UI 1.2 408m,4.08m+mods and with Canvas Knights JUST HOW BIG a H\D will
we all need??? Every day new mods come out and if you get all those it will take two hours just to load the game.
I have a very good computer and with the UI 1.2 I see it takes longer and longer to load.
It would be nice If we could just have 4.09m, 4.09m+mods, leave room here for CK.
I know CK will be BIGGGGGGGGGGGGG so where does it end?????

Yes, when a better flight sim comes along it starts all over again. Grand Prix Legends set a standard for racing sims when it came out, and is still raced today thanks to the mod community. The same applies to Nascar Racing 2003, which is much more than nascar racing now, thanks to the modders. And it's taken years for something worthwhile to come along (rfactor) and start winning over players. IL2 will have a long life even after something new comes out. Of course, I'm going to have to pick up a terrabyte HD soon.

Two hours? Can you exaggerate just a little more. Want a way to limit load time, down load time, just plain worry time? Walk away and leave the mods alone. Find a version you like and stick to it. It really is as easy as personal choice.

How can you leave the mods alone- I may be wrong but dont they COME with the UI-1.2???
The point is when is there just to much?
Right now on H\L we have some with 4.08m - 4.08m+ mods -4.09b1m-4.09b1m+mods-and yes the 4.09m
You have to ask what Ver. they are running just to join a game.
This is a GREAT game and loads of fun but it is a little out of hand.

HDD space in pennies a Gigabyte.. Memory should NOT be one of the problems restricting the development at this point..

You can feel free to stop at any point.. you don't have to have the new UI or CK when it comes out.
I just don't understand.. all of this, all of it is free but no one is forced to use it.. it wasn't long ago that people were screaming for more content and there wasn't enough modders to meet the demand! lol!

Sorry but I bought Rise Of Flight and it does work...exceptionally.

I see his point. If you play various servers then u have to keep track what mods can be used, what version of the game, turn mods on and off, etc. Dont get me wrong, i think the mods breathed life into the game.

Oh I love this game and some of the mods I have are GREAT.
I guess what I would really like to see is a SIMPLE switcher.
Build a switcher and then ADD away.
Let everyone pick what mods they want and install them. Nothing wrong with that.
