Okay! What Did I Do!!? - Pooch - 18.10.2009
Was having a blast, flying my F-86 over Korea. Got out. Restarted the game....and it stops loading at 20%! It took me most of yesterday to get this thing working, and I finally went and uninstalled the whole works and started from scratch. This morning I finished it up and finally had it running great. What happened?
One thing, though. You guys say don't move files. When I stopped paying I went into the mod folder and moved a couple that were al over the place. Now, I understood "Don't move files" to mean don't take them from the game root, for instance, and move them into the mod folder. Something like that. Leave them basically where they are.
But did you literally mean, don't move them an inch, left or right!?
Did I just screw everything up?

If you rename/move/change the filetype of/edit some files, it may appear as crash. Don't know what happened if you just moved a file in the root.

Symptom: game loading crashes at 20%...
Most likely the game did not find a missing java class, because you moved it by putting one folder into another, changing the structure of the mods. That is a killer, which you experienced. Java classes (hashed files) should always be in sub-folders of the MODS folder, or within the Files folder, never in a sub-folder of another sub-folder for instance, which is probably what you did...

Worst comes to worst, you can always re-install
Good luck

Well, luckily, I had made a copy of my il-2, intending to use that for 4.09. I made that my 1.2 and moved all of my new stuff over. Then reinstalled 1.1 on top of the messed up copy. It worked! I then reverted that one back to 4.08, and put 4.09 in!
Lol! Sounds complicated, but all is fixed without a reinstall. Whew! I'll be more careful.
